President trump has appointed Jerome Powell the new head of the fed

64-year-old Powell since 2012 is a member of the Board of governors of the Federal reserve

The President of the United States Donald trump announced the appointment of the head of the Federal reserve system Board of governors office of Jerome Powell.

The President expressed hope that the appointment of Powell will soon be approved by the Senate.

In addition to Powell candidates for the post were Janet Yellen (head of the RFU recently) and economist of Stanford University’s John Taylor.
