Murder hunt after the father was killed as he was investigating a power outage

The 35-year-old’s body was found in the front yard of his home in the suburbs of Longing, 16km from the city centre, with several blows of a knife at about 12: 30. The man’s wife and children were inside at the time of the attack.

The Police sealed off the area and launched an investigation. It was not immediately known if there was a link between the power cut and the attack.

Queensland Detective Tony Fleming told the Nine Network for the area is usually quiet. “This is certainly not something that we expected and that is why we pulled all our resources and we have followed with as much force as we can.”

We don’t know what he was attacked.

The man died at the scene despite desperate attempts by paramedics to save him.

The police are doorknocking the area and have asked anyone with information to contact Policelink or Crime stoppers.

More to come.
