Rock and roll is alive and it lives in Liam Gallagher’s fruit and vegetable dealer.

The star was in ebullient form at yesterday’s Q Awards, the batting away of questions about the lack of new guitar bands, as a rule, comic-book bravado.

“I know people talk about the death of rock ‘n’ roll, but for me it never went away,” he told the BBC.

“I live and breathe, if I make a recording, or the purchase of bananas. Because I buy bananas in a rock ‘n’ roll, you know what I mean?”

Gallagher does not explain how a rock star with a banana buys, but probably he asks for a role.

Ed Sheeran has his price – the best Band in the world today – with one arm in a sling (well…Burberry scarf) and the other in a plaster cast after an accident over the weekend.

The star told Radio 1 that he had broken his right wrist and left elbow, and fracture of a rib.

“It is pain is a pretty boring constantly,” he said, “very similar to a tattoo.”

Asked how he celebrated his number one album on Friday, the star replied: “I don’t”.

“This is the first time I get out of the house”, he said, offers a most curious statement.

“I’m just back from LA and I was crowd surfing and they [the fans] were pinching me.

“I don’t recommend it to anyone. My butt is already sore, so I got a flat just lying on my bed.”
