The increase in tariffs for railway transportation, up to a 22.5 per cent and less. About it on air of TV channel “Ukraine” said Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman.
According to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) on the one hand and business on the other have to find a compromise on the issue of growth in freight tariffs.
“UZ decades has been stagnant. And, in principle, the tariffs do not meet economic feasibility. There is need to dialogue with the business community to find a reasonable solution. I know that the business is ready, and the railway are ready. So I’m not sure that it (the increase in tariffs – Ed.) will be 22.5%. I think it will be less,” – said Groisman.
According to him, the Ministry of infrastructure is difficult but very important task: “it is Necessary to adjust the tariffs so that they were acceptable to the real economy, and given the opportunity to obtain resources to modernize the fleet of Ukrainian Railways”.
Groisman also said that from 1 January 2018 port dues in ports of Ukraine will be reduced by 20%.
Recall, from October 1, “uz” wants to increase the cost of transportation. Profile Committee of the Verkhovna Rada advises officials TIES to restrain the growth of tariffs at the expense of internal reserves, and to fight corruption and attract investments. There is also the option of corporatization “uz” – the sale to a strategic investor 10% stake in the company that helped to attract billions of hryvnia.
Gosregulyator offers “Ukrzaliznytsya” to justify the increase in tariffs and to reconsider its decision.
