Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on disciplinary punishment of the head of Ministry of transport Maxim Sokolov. The corresponding document was published on the official portal of legal information on Friday, September 29.
The text of the decree States that the President agreed to declare the officer a disciplinary penalty in the form of incomplete official conformity, on the proposal of the Prime Minister.
On September 27 Vladimir Putin warned the Minister of transport about incomplete official compliance due to the crisis situation around the airline “VIM-Avia”. The head of state called Sokolova to deal with this situation quickly and effectively. The President also criticized Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, saying that he has paid insufficient attention to the transport industry, which oversees.
The situation with the flight “VIM-Avia” has escalated this weekend. Monday, September 25, the company admitted that it had no funds to continue the work and it ceases to perform Charter flights. Regular flights are still ongoing. The issue with the transportation of passengers “VIM-Avia”, is under control of Rosaviation and Ministry of transport.
According to TASS, since 2000, only one Federal public servant was declared incomplete office conformity to the first Deputy Minister of economic development and trade Mikhail Dmitriev. It happened in April 2003, but later the penalty was lifted.
