American guitarist and songwriter Josh Schwartz died at the age of 45 years. On Tuesday, September 12, according to Pitchfork.
The death of the musician confirmed his friend and colleague Brent Rademaker. He said that Schwartz has long struggled with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (als).
This diagnosis put him in 2011. Relatives of the artist has announced the collection of funds for treatment using stem cells. According to Rademaker, the last few years, Schwartz was paralyzed and could only communicate with his eyes.
Josh Schwartz was a member of such bands as Beachwood Sparks and Further. He also participated on the albums of artists Flight of the Conchords, Lou Barlow and Tift Merritt.
In 2010 the musician released a solo album, Painted Hills.
