BMW X7 concept leaks ahead of Frankfurt motor show debut

The Images of the BMW X7 concept have leaked ahead of the car’s official debut at the Frankfurt motor show next week.

The images, which made its appearance on Bimmerpost, show the front end of the car, which is dominated by huge kidney grilles with slim lights and deep air intakes.

The grids, as has been suggested on the production version of the 8 Series will be toned down of large units on the concept.

A point-of-load on the passenger side of the wing with I of badges reveals that the concept will be a plug-in hybrid; eDrive badges on the D-pillar, as well as “Hybrid” mode is selected, as can be seen, and a fuel gauge on the left.

At the rear, the car adopts a similar style to the Z4 Concept, which has also been revealed recently, with slimline lights replacement of the bulky lights of the current generation of Bmw.

The car’s six-seat layout to be converted to seven seats for the production, the rival of the Mercedes-Benz GLS, Range Rover and Audi Q7.

The engines will likely be shared with the 7 Series, including a 3.0-liter spawning 30d, 40d and 50d variants, as well as 4.4-liter gasoline V8. A performance variant could get the same four-wheel drive and the 6.6-liter V12 engine of the M760Li xDrive – the fastest-accelerating BMW, the brand, with a 0-62mph time of 3.7 sec.

A hybrid version is also a dead cert; the concept of hybrid powertrain signals that the production model will get a iPerformance version similar to the 740e iPerformance.
