Participant in the assassination of prominent Kyrgyz theologian sentenced to 18 years

Bishkek. 8 Aug. INTERFAX – a Supporter of the terrorist organization “Islamic state” (banned in Russia), second defendant in a criminal case about the attack on the Kyrgyz theologian Kadyr Malikov was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment, have informed on Tuesday “Interfax” in the Pervomaisky court of Bishkek.

“Ryskul Beishenaliev, accused of assaulting Malikov, is recognized as may day court of Minsk found guilty. The court has appointed to it punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 18 years in strict regime colony with confiscation of property”, – said the Agency interlocutor.

According to him, the court found that S.Beishenaliev studied the literature of the radical wing and supported the ideology of ISIS.

The attack on a well-known theologian Kyrgyzstan, including dealing with radical Islam occurred in November 2015. K. Malikov received multiple stab wounds. After the assassination, he said that the attack on him was made by the supporters of ISIS.

Suspects S.Beishenaliev and Tilek uulu Alibek after the attack almost immediately went to Turkey but was detained by the security forces of this country on the border with Syria. According to law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan, both of the attackers are supporters of ISIS.

S.Beishenaliev was extradited from Turkey to Bishkek in March 2017, and A. Tilek uulu were expelled from Turkey in 2016. Last year A. Tilek uulu was sentenced first to life imprisonment, but the Supreme court of Kyrgyzstan has softened a sentence, having appointed it for 20 years.
