Moscow. April 28. INTERFAX – Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill has called to keep the peace in TRANS-Dniester Republic is a priority of the Russian Orthodox Church.
“The Church always prays for peace, always concerned that the world persisted, to avoid the threat of war and all violence, it is an important priority,” – said the Patriarch at a meeting with President of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky on Friday in Moscow.
The Primate assured the President of the Republic that “the peacekeeping position of the Russian Orthodox Church, its care for the spiritual life in Transnistria will be at a high level.”
“You can see the power in the positive sense that will help resolve the problems that exist in the Transnistrian society, including in the sphere of Church-state relations”, – said the Patriarch.
He also stressed the importance of keeping peace with the neighbors, “especially good relations with the Russian Federation are very important factor of peace in the region, and therefore peace in people’s lives”.
The newly elected President noted that Transnistria is a part of the Russian world, “our friends and enemies is well aware of”, and shares its values, traditions and the Orthodox faith.
Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, an unrecognized state on the banks of the Dniester. Yesterday, 27 April, Transnistria has rejected the proposal of the President of Moldova Igor Dodon on the participation of residents of the unrecognized Republic in the elections to the Parliament of Moldova.
