Moscow. April 20. INTERFAX – Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar expressed condolences to the family of Rabbi Mendel of Dica, who died received the Ukrainian Zhytomyr beatings.
“Your father was a great friend of our community and all the messengers of the Rebbe in the CIS countries. Many times we took it in Moscow, talked with him long hours both at Hasidic gatherings and face to face. I knew him as an energetic, purposeful man, a proud Jew and a devoted Hasid,” – said in a condolence Lazar, the son of Shneor Dicu, head of the Jewish community of Minsk, said on Thursday the press service of the chief Rabbi.
According to Lazar, after the attack on M. Dica the Jewish community of Russia prayed for him and monitor his condition. He called the death of M. Dica loss “for the entire Jewish people, for all the Hasidim Chabad, for all the messengers in the CIS.”
7 October last year, M. Daych was found unconscious with stab wounds at the train station in Zhitomir. Later on charges of assault for the purpose of acquiring property, was arrested three residents of the Transcarpathian region and one resident of Vinnytsia. The Rabbi died in Israel, where he passed a course of treatment.
