Moscow. March 20. INTERFAX – Chairman of the Patriarchal Council for culture, Bishop Tikhon (Shevkunov) believes that the personality of Grigory Rasputin remains mysterious and needs to be carefully examined.
“For me he remains totally mysterious figure, such people are found in history, and we learn about them only at the last judgment. Indeed, he helped to stop the blood heir, but there is evidence that talking about the extremely unpleasant moments in his behavior,” the Bishop said at a lecture in Moscow devoted to the centenary of the revolution.
According to the Church hierarchy, it was “an extraordinary man, and often the evidence that we offer, are challenged by other facts and evidence”.
“It requires serious research,” – said Bishop Tikhon, noting that Rasputin “used for loosening power, and it’s exactly right.”
The head of the Patriarch’s Council agreed that, as soon as a man says: “Rasputin is a person mysterious, enigmatic, it is necessary to study it”, he immediately falls into the category of “shake hands”, which seriously even you can’t talk.
