Tbilisi. 10 Feb. INTERFAX – Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II, who is undergoing medical treatment in Germany, February 13, will have surgery on the gall bladder.
“According to information received from Germany, February 8, ended clinical, laboratory and instrumental studies of the Patriarch. Based on the obtained data confirmed the necessity of treatment of the gallbladder surgical technique,” – said the press service of the Georgian Patriarchate.
It is noted that at present preparations for the operation stage.
As reported in early January against the flu, which caused the inflammation in the gallbladder of the Patriarch, and could be the need of the operation, the Georgian doctors have offered to bring Elijah II for treatment in Germany, but he did not agree.
However, at the insistence of the doctors February 2 Patriarch still went to Germany. According to the doctor Ilia II, the decision was taken after a survey, which revealed worsening of the disease.
