Ssangyong-the world’s first touch-window system has been designed to open so that the driver and passengers, and to close, a car windows, touching them.
The brand, the can says owned by Indian automobile giant Mahindra, the public expected that the technology before the end of the year.
Ssangyong says that this is one of many new technologies under consideration, after approval by the researchers and employees.
Ssangyong CEO Choi Jong-sik said: “The company will continue the development of the next generation of products to meet the needs of customers and set a new trend through the promotion of creative ideas and innovative research.”
While the Ssangyong claims that this is the first example of such a technology, other manufacturers have already mentioned similar possibilities. Last year it was reported that Jaguar working on windows that could be opened and closed by touching the glass, but the car manufacturer is not any time frame on when they would make it to production.
Ssangyong plans to launch three new models in the next three years, starting with an all-new Rexton large SUV, the competitors of the Hyundai Santa Fe. It is also launching electric versions of its model line-up by 2020, and is currently testing a electrical Tivoli.
