Ex-Secretary of the head of South Korea declared the transfer of documents to her friend

Former Secretary of the ousted South Korean President Park Geun-Hye — Jung Ho son recognized the “leak” about 180 documents to the defendant in a political scandal and a close friend of the head of state, Choi sung-SIL during the period from 2012 to 2016.

This was reported by Yonhap news Agency with reference to representatives of the special Commission of inquiry.

In particular, according to the Agency, 138 documents were handed over to Tsoy in 2013, two in 2014 and four in 2015, and another six in 2016. Thus, according to the investigation, approximately 30 documents were forwarded and read by Choi sung-SIL in 2012, i.e. before the inauguration of President Park Geun-Hye, which took office in February 2013.

The documents, which, according to the former Secretary of the South Korean President, transmitted Choi sung-SIL, provided information in particular about the schedule of the President, plans the implementation of the national policy, as well as confidential information about diplomatic missions.

Last Friday, the Parliament of South Korea voted to impeach President Park Geun-Hye, after which the head of state resigned. The acting President became Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-Ahn. Finally, the process of removal of the President from power will be completed after approval of the results of the vote by the Constitutional court. By law this process should take up to six months.

To date, the impeachment of the President of South Korea was initiated only once – when the late ex-President Roh Moo-Hyun. In March 2004, the Parliament voted for the impeachment of the President, but in may of the same year this decision was overturned by the Constitutional court of South Korea. Roh Moo-Hyun left office in February 2008.
