The senators urged trump to stand firm against Russia

Letter to President-elect, signed by representatives of both parties

12 senators-Republicans and 15 democratic senators on Thursday signed a letter addressed to the elected President of the United States Donald Trump, urging him to stick to a strict line of conduct in relation to Russia in connection with what they described as a “military seizure of the territory” in Ukraine.

“In light of the ongoing aggression by Russia and its repeated failure to respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine and its sovereign right to choose its own destiny, we reiterate the call for increased political, economic and military support of Ukraine by the United States,” the letter reads, the initiator of writing which, according to Reuters, became the Senator-Democrat Richard Durbin and Republican Senator Rob Portman.
