Moscow. 7 Dec. INTERFAX – an Orthodox festival “Artos” opens December 12 in Moscow Park of culture and rest “Sokolniki”.
The main theme of the festival will be family Christmas, and its Central site will introduce a variety of booths with unique handmade goods, creative workshops for children and adults, as well as a wide variety of gifts: books, icons, jewelry and more. The exhibition will feature a large selection of Orthodox literature, including the gift of children’s books for Christmas, said on Wednesday the Synodal Department for Church relations with society and the media.
The festival will host a series of conversations with priests, at which it will be possible to talk about fasting and preparation for Christmas, to ask questions about spiritual life. “Artos” was attended by such famous preachers as Archpriest Dmitry Smirnov, Archpriest Andrey Tkachev and Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov. Russian culture and literature will be devoted to a meeting with Archpriest Andrei Dudarev, and the author of the popular collections of recipes, hegumen Germogen (Ananyev) festival guests will be able to talk about lean cuisine.
In the main part of the exhibition the guests will have a unique photo project “what the silent ruins” tells the story of the great monuments of Church architecture of the Ryazan land. The traditional festival remains Orthodox and cinema events – this time here will present a retrospective of the masterpieces of world cinema, dedicated to Christmas. A special programme of shows prepared with the participation of the Central Museum of cinema and help a new look to traditional Christmas stories.
In the framework of the festival there will also be concerts of sacred music, in which the speech of the winner of the world choir games, the vocal ensemble “Melody”, and various songs and spiritual songs, Christmas songs in solo concerts of Orthodox singers.
All sites of the festival is traditionally free and open to the public.
