Slovakia has complicated the procedure of state registration for Islam

Dubai. 2 Dec. INTERFAX – the Slovak Authorities adopted a law that prevents the registration of Islam as the state religion, said on Friday the Iranian television channel “Press TV”.

The law, initiated by the far-right Slovak national party, dictates that religion can gain state registration if it has at least 20 to 50 thousand followers. Thus, according to the latest census, the number of Muslims in Slovakia does not exceed two thousand.

The act received the assent of two thirds of Parliament. Alternative initiative is assumed to obtain the state registration of religion should be not less than 250 thousand followers.
