Obama and trump congratulated the Americans happy thanksgiving

The President and his successor urged citizens to unity

US President Barack Obama and President-elect of Donald trump wished Americans a happy thanksgiving greeting video. Both urged citizens to unity after bitter election campaign.

“We are fortunate that we call this country their home. That’s what America is our home. The place where we raise children, care for relatives, help others and fulfill their dreams. I pray that this thanksgiving, we began to forget their differences and move forward as one nation, finding strength in our shared goals and shared determination,” said trump.

President Obama, on the eve of the last traditionally pardoned two turkeys to the White house, also referred to the strife of the recent election campaign and urged Americans not to forget that they are one nation.

“On behalf of the entire Obama family – Michelle, Malia, Sasha, grandma, Bo and Sunny I want to wish you a happy thanksgiving. Like many of you, I will spend the day with family and friends, with the Turkey on the table and football on TV. We thank God for each other and for all that he gave us. And think about what binds us as a nation. It has never been so important. Our country went through noisy, full of passions and contradictions of the campaign. Because sometimes during the election become apparent our differences. It is a struggle against their foes. We focus our attention on the candidate supported, instead of the ideals that unite us. But I flew a few weeks, and thanksgiving reminds us that, despite differences, we are still one nation, a part of something bigger,” – said Obama.

Later Thursday, trump via his Twitter account, informed the Americans that is still working, despite the holiday.

“I work hard, even on thanksgiving Day, trying to ensure that the company manufacturing Carrier air conditioners remained in the United States (Indiana). Things are moving – we’ll soon know as that”, – he wrote.

Trump is not the only American who works on thanksgiving Day. For the 1.3 million American soldiers, approximately 275 thousand of which are deployed on the front lines, today is just another day at the office.

In order to make this day more enjoyable for the soldiers on service abroad, the Ministry of defense sent to the military bases in the middle East of the parcel dedicated to the Day of Thanksgiving. In the military they will find a Turkey, ham, stuffing for the Turkey and sweet drink eggnog.

And in new York on Thursday held a Parade Macy’s in honor of thanksgiving. It was accompanied by this year’s enhanced security measures.
