The Russian direct investment Fund (RDIF) multiple of increased investment in the project Hyperloop vacuum train. This was stated to journalists by the head of the Fund Kirill Dmitriev, “Interfax”.

“And even with the United States, we have some news that we have increased our investment in the Hyperloop. I will not disclose the details, but, say, multiple”, — Dmitriyev told reporters on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Peru.

He noted that it is a joint investment with the Dubai port operator DP World. Also Dmitriev said that RDIF sees the potential for the development of joint projects with investors from the United States and consults on development issues and restore cooperation with American partners.

The Hyperloop project in 2012 was presented by the founder of SpaceX Elon Musk. He invited enthusiasts to build a “vacuum pipe” in the form of a closed pipe, in which the train can move at a speed of from 480 to 1220 km/h due to the absence of rails friction and air resistance. The project is not yet implemented anywhere in the world, however, Hyperloop Technologies may 11, conducted the first successful test of the train in Nevada.

In June 2016, co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company-operator of the project Hyperloop Technologies Inc. Shervin Pishevar reported that high-speed vacuum train could appear in Russia. Together with Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin and investor Hyperloop Technologies Ziyavudin Magomedov, he signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the framework of St. Petersburg international economic forum. According to the document, the first “vacuum pipe” in Russia can tie the capital’s airports. Their support for the project promised by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

RDIF and Russian Railways also plan to test the technology in Russia. While the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation stated that the country’s first transport system Hyperloop cost 30-40 billion rubles may appear in the area from China to Zarubino port.
