MOSCOW, 11 Dec — RIA Novosti. Canadian singer Leonard Cohen has died on 83-m to year of life, according to a Facebook Executive.

“It is with deep sadness we announce that legendary poet, composer and artist Leonard Cohen left us. We lost one of the most valued and productive visionaries in the world of music”, — is spoken in the message.

Farewell to the singer will be held in Los Angeles, the date will be announced later.

Cohen was born in 1934 in Montreal, and in the mid-1960s, he moved to USA, where he began his career as a musician. He is the author of such famous songs as Hallelujah, Suzanne and So Long Marianne.

In addition, Cohen has published several collections of poetry and prose, and has published two novels that have been translated including in Russia.
