Putin instructed to modernize the system of prevention of doping in sport

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions on improving the system of prevention of doping in Russian sports. The relevant document, approved by the President following the meeting of the Council for development of physical culture and sport on 11 October, published on the official Kremlin website.

As the measures proposed to study the issue of direct funding to national anti-doping organization’s expense budget and possible amendments to Russian legislation. Also, the President has proposed to Finance the activities of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) directly from the Federal budget.

Putin stressed the need to create national anti-doping laboratory at MSU named after M. V. Lomonosov with subsequent transfer of the property of the institution “Antidoping center” the Ministry of sport.

The Russian leader also recommended the state Duma to consider and adopt a law that would exclude the sport from the founders of the Russian anti-doping organization.

In mid-October, Putin turned the Russian anti-doping laboratory under the control of the MSU named after M. V. Lomonosov. Then the head of state noted that in the system of sports management will soon be “new formats”. He also stressed the need to establish cooperation with international sports federations, international Olympic and Paralympic committees through the appropriate national committees, national sports federations.
