Military retirees, and civilian, must provide a one-time cash payment of 5 thousand rubles, said President Vladimir Putin. He asked the government to amend the bill, “this measure of support has touched all categories of pensioners, including the military and other similar groups”, reports “Interfax”.
“Such opportunities we have, the budget has appropriate resources,” Putin said at a meeting with members of the security Council, noting that he had discussed this issue with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Military pensioners “fell” from the bill, although the government agreed that a lump sum payment needs to all categories of pensioners, he said.
“I understand that the logic of the authors of this bill: 24 million — about the average pension for military pensioners, thousand 13 — in the civilian sector. Nevertheless, we are told that this measure will apply to all categories. We cherish the fact that we’re talking about, and people know that we strive to accomplish the maximum of what we promise” — he explained.
Changes must be made “promptly” to the beginning of the year military retirees have already received the payment, said Putin and Medvedev.
