The launch of WorldView-4 were postponed because of problems with the Atlas V rocket

WASHINGTON, 3 Dec – RIA Novosti. The United Launch Alliance has postponed the launch of the satellite sensing WorldView-4 due to a failure of the launch vehicle Atlas V.

“The team is working on fixing identified during the preparation for the start of minor problems accelerator Atlas V”, the company said on Wednesday. The launch is scheduled for 11 November at 20:30 GMT.

Earlier it was reported that the launch from the spaceport Vandenberg (CA) was to be held on 6 November.

Originally the launch was to take place in September, but was postponed for technical reasons. Then run prevented large-scale forest fire that started in the vicinity of the launch pad.

The satellite, WorldView-4 of DigitalGlobe developed by Lockheed Martin Space Systems. The device is designed to transmit multi-spectral panoramic images high-resolution Earth.

Predecessor WorldView-4 satellite, WorldView-3 was launched in 2014. The new device is equipped with a telescope Imaging System, GeoEye-2, will be the fifth in the DigitalGlobe constellation of satellites.
