KYIV, Nov 1 — RIA Novosti. Moskovskaya street in the center of Kiev want to rename in honor of the deceased in the Donbass security forces with the Callsign “Godzilla” — the street of Dmitri Gazenko, reported Tuesday on the website of the Kyiv city state administration (KSCA).

“The Commission on names recommends that the city Council to rename three streets in Kiev in honor of Vladimir Ivasyuk, Vasyl Bearing and in honor of the Hero of Ukraine Dmitry Gudzenko. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Committee on names, chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the KCSA Oleksiy Reznikov,” — said in the message.

According to the administration, Geroyev Stalingrad Avenue in the Obolon district, the Commission recommends to rename in honor of Ukrainian composer and poet, Hero of Ukraine center; the street Petrovsky in the area Desnyanskiy – in honor of chemical engineer, art critic and collector Bearing; Moskovskaya street in Pechersk district – in honor of soldier of the 17th battalion of the 57-th separate motorized infantry brigade with the call sign “Godzilla” Gazenko, who died on March 31, the day before their unit was to move from the zone of hostilities in the Donbass.

According to the report, during discussion of the proposal on renaming the Moscow street in Pechersk district was announced information that the name is historical. “With all due respect, but this is not the street that I want to see on the map of Kiev”, — said Reznikov. Also, the Commission addressed to the mayor and his Deputy — Secretary of Kyiv city Council with a request to continue consideration of the question on renaming of prospect Vatutina Avenue Shukhevych. Appropriate renaming already passed public discussion and was supported by Kiev.
