The President of Russia Vladimir Putin advised the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov to control the construction of the Kerch bridge online via surveillance camera. The head of state said at a forum of the Russian popular front (onf) in Yalta, reports “Interfax”.
“Need to get online directly to the office yourself camera and watch every day what is happening there”, — said Putin. He also expressed confidence that this method of monitoring compliance with the terms and standards of construction will be the most effective.
During the forum, the inhabitant of Kerch complained to Putin that the timing of bridge construction and the associated plans to resettle people from the area of construction is not met.
The head of state in response to this emphasized that the pace and timing of construction should track the regional authorities. “As far as I know the funding is there without fail. It is the task of the Federal authorities. Here, Sergey V. [Feldman] confirms that there are no problems, no restrictions in the funding of the programme no.”
He also noted that the Federal government, if necessary, ready to provide assistance when needed. “But we’re not there to stand and every day to control. And local authorities and regional authorities”, — said Putin.
According to the plans of the General contractor of the Kerch bridge company “stroygazmontazh” Arkady Rotenberg, the transport hub will be commissioned in 2019. The total length of the bridge will be 19 km, the car part will include four lanes, design speed of movement on the road to 120 km/h and with a throughput capacity of 40 thousand vehicles per day. The railway part of the bridge will be two way.
In July, the government moved the commencement date for temporary operation of the railway part of the bridge Kerch. The initial period was set for 18 December 2018. Currently, the beginning of the temporary operation pending on December 1, 2019.
