NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that a group of Russian warships led by the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser “Admiral Kuznetsov” can be used to attack civilians in Aleppo, Reuters reports.

“A battle group can be used to extend the capabilities of Russia on the conduct of hostilities in Syria to enhance new air strikes on Aleppo”, — said Stoltenberg. In particular, it “can be used as a platform to strengthen the air strikes against civilians in Aleppo,” he said.

The Russian Air and space forces (VKS) and the Syrian air force is not applied to air strikes on Aleppo in the past week, said on 25 October the Russian defense Ministry. “During the last seven days over Aleppo completely stopped flying aircraft of Russian air force and Syrian air force. Planes do not approach the city and do not inflict strikes”, — said the representative of the Ministry Igor Konashenkov.
