MINSK, October 23 — RIA Novosti. Russian truck manufacturer KAMAZ and the Belarusian MAZ, it is advisable to divide the product range in order to avoid unnecessary competition, said Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, on the territory of which is KAMAZ.
Belarus and Russia in 2012 agreed on five integration projects, involving the privatization of Belarusian enterprises, creation of joint holdings, investments and a unified sales policy. Including plans for the creation of the Alliance MAZ and KAMAZ. First, they discussed the exchange of shares of enterprises, and then there was the option of creating a joint holding company based on MAZ and KAMAZ, which was planned to transfer the shares. However, the project was not implemented.
The issue of direct competition between the two plants and prospects of their integration was raised Minnikhanov in an interview with Belarusian TV on Sunday.
“They (the plants) in many segments are in the same niche… I assortment to share — what a car produces. If you want all really need each other to hear,” said the President of Tatarstan in the air of the Belarusian TV.
In September, first Deputy industry Minister of Belarus Gennady Svidersky said that the project of the Association of Belarusian of Minsk automobile plant (MAZ) and Russian KAMAZ removed from the agenda.
