According to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, after the US elections can be chances of the restoration of relations of Moscow and Washington, RIA Novosti reported.

“I hope when will these debates, this difficult period of political life in the United States, I hope that will have chances to restore relations of the Russian Federation and the USA”, — said the President. “In terms of the election campaign of any current government looks at how to build the tactics of the campaign, and any authority, especially that which goes to the polls, there is always the problem of the unresolved issues. They need to show and explain to their constituents why didn’t this or that. In the United States these problems, even though it is the leading economy in the world, a great power, without a doubt. But many issues are not solved, for example, the huge public debt is a time bomb for the economy of the United States and to the global financial system,” — explained Putin.
Earlier, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin said that relations between Russia and the United States are in the worst condition since 1973, when the war began “judgment day” between Israel and coalition of Arab countries. “The overall situation, I think, is pretty bad at the moment, probably the worst since 1973,” said Churkin. He pointed out that the US and NATO decided to build its own security “at the expense of Russia,” given that many countries in Eastern Europe that were previously in the Soviet bloc, as members of NATO. One “of the most serious provocations,” he called the NATO summit in 2008, during which it was agreed that we should accept Ukraine and Georgia into NATO.
On 13 October, the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that the administration of the President of the United States applies in relation to the Russian tactics of “scorched earth”. In her words, “the American representatives in the International monetary Fund, the world Bank and other multilateral financial institutions have been instructed to prevent the allocation of funds for any programs that are associated with Russia.”
The foreign Ministry, she said, “with regret” watching US “continue to destroy bilateral relations,” she added. “Almost daily we hear of the threat of further expansion of sanctions, and calls on the international community to go the same way,” she complained then.
In early October, the US state Department announced the termination of talks with Russia on the Syrian issue. The reason Washington is called a failure by Moscow of its obligations under the Russian-American agreement on the ceasefire in Syria.
