Putin called the strategic task of Russia

Speaking at the forum “Russia calling!” Russian President Vladimir Putin explained what he sees the strategic objective of the country. The live broadcast of the forum leads the TV channel “Russia 24”.

“Today, Russia needs to achieve a qualitatively new economic growth, to support specific initiatives aimed at creation of additional jobs, the use of new technologies and drastic increase of labour productivity”, — Putin said (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).

According to him, it is “our strategic objective”.

He noted that the Russian authorities are ready for such work and intend to go this route. The President invited “all who are interested in partnership and cooperation”, to take part in this work.

Putin also added that the key task of the government is to formulate a comprehensive list of events on this matter and to provide for necessary expenses.

Earlier during the forum, the President noted that the Russian economy is faced with the damage from restrictive measures imposed against Moscow by the West. The main threat from sanctions, he referred to the restrictions in technology transfer.

In addition, Putin spoke about the conditions of normalization of relations between Russia and the United States. According to him, Moscow is ready to dialogue, when Washington will begin “acting partner”. “We are also concerned about the deterioration of Russian-American relations, but it is not our choice, but we never tried. On the contrary, we want to have friendly relations with such great countries as the USA, the leading economy in the world,” Putin said.

He also added that the US should not use Russia as a bargaining chip during political struggle for the presidential elections. According to the President, “all actors are abusing the anti-Russian rhetoric and poison our bilateral relations, and that is bad”.
