The construction of “Turkish stream” will begin in 2018

MOSCOW, 11 Dec — RIA Novosti. The signing of the intergovernmental agreement on the “Turkish stream” has launched the implementation of the project, the construction of the pipeline will begin in 2018, said the head of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller.

“The agreement on the beginning of the project, is the article that tells about the beginning of implementation and construction of the project, shall enter into force upon its signing… Given the start of the project. According to our plan, the construction will start in 2018,” Miller said in an interview with TV channel “Russia 24”.

According to him, the marine section of the pipeline will be 100% owned by “Gazprom”, the company also undertake the financing of the construction of the two branches. The gas transport infrastructure on the territory of Turkey from the receiving terminal will build Turkey’s Botas.

To create in Turkey a transit infrastructure for gas deliveries to European consumers will create a joint venture, said Miller.

He also reported that the mechanism of the discount on gas for Turkey will be linked to the volume of supplies of this country.

Russia and Turkey on October 10 signed the intergovernmental agreement on the project “Turkish stream.” The agreement involves the construction of two threads of the main gas pipeline with a capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters each in the bottom of the Black sea. One thread is provided to supply gas directly to the Turkish market, the other for gas supplies transit through Turkey to European countries. The intergovernmental agreement defines the term which is to be built two sea line — December 2019.
