“The world today lacks compassion and love. At such times, it is very important conduct lessons for the development of compassion and love, we need the appropriate program. Women are by nature more sensitive to the suffering of living beings. Therefore, they should play a more active role in society. If the Dalai Lama can be of great benefit to mankind, being a woman, of course, possible,” said the Dalai Lama in response to a question from his audience in Riga, whether the appearance of the Dalai Lama female.

According to him, in Tibet centuries ago, the tradition of Lam-women, and among mahasiddh India also there are women.

The Dalai Lama also spoke about his vision for the occurrence of male leadership in society. “In the past the number of people on the planet were smaller, and they all shared with each other, not distinguishing between “ours” and “theirs”. But over time, with the advent of agriculture, large yields, which could have been abducted, people become a leader. Thus arose the concept of leadership.
