Four residents of Tatarstan faces up to 10 years in prison for stealing diesel fuel

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, October 11 — RIA Novosti. Tatar transport Prosecutor confirmed the indictment in the criminal case against four residents of the Republic of Tatarstan accused of secret theft of diesel fuel from locomotives of OAO Russian Railways as part of an organized group, said on Tuesday the Volga transport Prosecutor’s office.

The investigation found that one of the drivers of the locomotive in April this year has developed a scheme systematic theft of diesel fuel from the tanks of the locomotives belonging to the Railways. For this he created from the former and working of railway workers with specialized skills in maintenance and operation of rail transport, organized group. In may and June members of this group have stolen from the tanks of diesel locomotives of more than 3 thousand liters of diesel fuel, thereby causing the Railways damages in the amount of 80 thousand rubles.

“In June, the actions of the suspects in this crime was stopped by law enforcement officers. Criminal case of the secret theft of another’s property. The sanction of this article prescribes punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term up to 10 years with a fine in the amount of up to 1 million rubles with restriction of liberty for up to two years”, — stated in the message.

Now criminal case against the suspects sent to the court of Kazan for consideration in essence.
