The Ministry of sports of Russia announced the withdrawal from the members of the Russian anti-doping Agency (RUSADA). This decision the Agency has taken to “add transparency” to the Agency.

In September, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said that the government will solve a question on withdrawal of sport from the founders of RUSADA.

In November last year, the Committee of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) recognized RUSADA non-compliant code of the organization. According to WADA, the international Association of athletics federations (IAAF) and RUSADA have ignored the data about the use of illicit drugs by Russian athletes.

Anti-doping scandal erupted after the publication of the report of the independent Commission WADA under the leadership of Richard McLaren. He concluded that in Russia there is a state system of substitution and concealment of doping tests, which was actively used at the Olympic games in Sochi.

In the report of the Commission stated that the staff of the Sochi anti-doping laboratory is continuously substituted samples of Russian athletes, with the assistance of security officers, including the FSB.

According to McLaren, the creation doping system in Russia involved in sports officials. The head of the independent Commission noted that controlled the operation of the system the Deputy Minister of sports Yury Nagornykh, and Mutko were aware of an ongoing fraud. McClaren also pointed to the fact that once it Mutko gave an indication of the substitution of a positive doping test of a foreign footballer playing in the championship of Russia.

The head of WADA Craig reedy also said that RUSADA will be able to return to work only in the case of resignation of the Minister of sports of Russia and the heads of all those agencies mentioned in the report of the Board of WADA.

After the publication of the report from participations in the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro was removed almost all the athletes and weightlifters of the Russian team. In addition, because of suspicions of doping from the Games were suspended the entire national team Russian Paralympic athletes.
