Moscow has denied violating the airspace of Estonia

Russian military aircraft An-72 did not violate the airspace of Estonia in the area of the island Vaindloo. About this informed the official representative of the Ministry of defense of Russia Igor Konashenkov, reports TASS.

“No violations of the airspace of Estonia in the area of the island Vaindloo aircraft of the Russian Air and space forces was not” — said the representative office.

Konashenkov said that the An-72 had not been performed flights in the area. According to him, Russian aircraft regularly fly over the Baltic sea, “however, the routes of their flight are in strict accordance with international rules of using airspace over neutral waters.”

Previously, on 6 September, the General staff of Forces of defence of Estonia declared a violation of the An-72 air space of the country. The plane, according to the General staff, was in Estonia about one and a half minutes. In connection with the incident, the Estonian foreign Ministry summoned the Russian Ambassador and presented him a note of protest.
