French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel
French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel, the founder of the fashion house Sonia Rykiel has died in Paris at the age of 86 years, according to France24. In recent years, Rykiel has suffered from Parkinson’s disease.

Rykiel was born in the suburbs of Paris on 25 may 1930 in a family of Jewish immigrants from Russia. At age 17 she took a job as a window dresser of one of the textile shops in the French capital. First husband Rykiel was the owner of the shop jerseys and in 1962, they released their first knitted things for the boutique husband.
