Chief editor of radio station “echo of Moscow” Alexei Venediktov decided to leave the Public Council under the Ministry of education. He said this in his Twitter after it became known about appointment as the new Minister of education employee of the presidential administration of Olga Vasilyeva.
“I made the decision to leave the Public Council under the Ministry of education. The new Minister,” wrote Venediktov, attaching a photo biography of the new Minister.
Vasiliev succeeded by Dmitry Livanov, who was considered one of the most unpopular of Ministers. In the presidential administration Vasilyeva held a post of the Deputy chief of management of public projects, and before that worked in the Ministry of culture.
In 1990 he defended his thesis: “the Soviet state and the Patriotic activity of the Russian Orthodox Church during the great Patriotic war.” As noted by the interlocutor of RBC in the Kremlin, Vasilyev “intelligent historian” and “strong patriot.” The Russian Orthodox Church supported the appointment of Vasilyeva.
Public Council under the Ministry of education was created to ensure the interaction of the Department with public associations and other nonprofit organizations to increase the accountability and transparency of the activities of the Ministry.
