The head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov
Commenting on the decision of IAAF to disqualify Daria Klishina from participation in the Games, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov said that the situation looks “like a cynical mockery of the athlete”, says the official twitter of ROC.
A similar opinion in interview to Agency “R-Sport” stated the Chairman of the Committee on physical culture, sport and youth Affairs of the State Duma Dmitry Svishchev. He called the situation with Kishineu “top cruelty and bullying”. “Initially I was surprised as it was allowed, because he was suspended the whole team. But since she’s made and she arrived, it is doubly incomprehensible to these actions. Cruel to remove it, is the height of bullying,” said Svishchev
The MP expressed the opinion that the decision of the IAAF – an act of revenge for what Klishina refused to participate in the Olympics under the flag of the International Olympic Committee.
Earlier it became known that the IAAF changed its decision on the admission Daria Kishineu to the Olympics in Rio. The athlete filed a lawsuit in the court of arbitration for Sport. The case will be reviewed within 24 hours.
Klishina was the only Russian athlete participating in the Olympics. It was in compliance with the criteria set by the IAAF. One of the reasons why Klishina, unlike the other Russian athletes were admitted to the Games, was the fact that she lives and trains outside of Russia. In Rio de Janeiro, she arrived on Friday.
