A petition demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev on the website Change.org a day gained 160 thousand signatures.
The authors of the appeal addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, pointing that the Cabinet of Ministers shall be headed by a competent, educated and serving the country man.”
“Now we see the opposite picture. Don’t have the advertising face of the company Apple, sleeping on the opening of the Olympics, people advising teachers to “somehow, somewhere to earn money to survive, to stand at the head of the Cabinet of Ministers,” the petition reads (spelling and punctuation preserved).
The letter also States that “the fish rots from the head”, and suggests that government efficiency is related to the activities of Medvedev.
The day before, on 4 August, the petition has already commented in the Kremlin. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that the administration is not familiar with this treatment. “No, we don’t know about it, I don’t think it requires any reaction,” he said.
In early August, Medvedev during dialogue with participants of the forum “Territory”, said that teachers who are dissatisfied with their salaries, could go to work in the business. After that Change.org also there was a petition calling on Medvedev to apologize to the teachers and to resign. On August 4, the site also came the requirement to dismiss the Prime Minister.
