Some 400 civilians, including 76 children, have left areas of Aleppo, Syria for humanitarian corridors. This was stated on Wednesday by the head of the Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, Lieutenant General Sergei Charkov, reports “RIA Novosti”.
According to him, 94 militants laid down their arms, 203 needy were provided with qualified medical aid.
“Just yesterday, the Eastern districts of Aleppo left 48 residents, and the Syrian authorities gave up 12 militants,” said Charkow.
He noted that the Center for reconciliation daily delivers in the areas of checkpoints, food, medicines and basic necessities. To date, these items delivered 15 tons of humanitarian cargo, said the Lieutenant General.
However Charkov noted that the situation in Aleppo remains tense as the terrorists hinder the exit of the population through humanitarian corridors. “Received information about preparation of their children and women as suicide bombers to commit terrorist acts”, — he said (quoted by TASS).
On 28 July the Minister of defence of Russia Sergey Shoigu told about the instructions of President Vladimir Putin to begin in Aleppo, Syria, a large-scale humanitarian operation. It is, in particular, that the Russian Centre for conciliation in cooperation with the Syrian authorities to open more corridors for the exit of people from Aleppo. To leave the city, stressed Sergei Shoigu, will not only civilians, but the Islamists, who wished to lay down their arms.
