Inflation in Russia remained at 0.1% in a week

During the week from 19 to 25 July, consumer prices in Russia increased on average by 0.1%, according to Rosstat. At 0.1%, the weekly inflation rate is held the third week in a row after a spike in early July, when the average price increase due to the increase of housing prices accelerated to 0.4%.

However, housing prices still increasing faster than inflation. According to Rosstat, in the week from 19 to 25 July the price of “communal” increased the national average by 0.2–1%, while tariffs for heating increased by 0,6%, electricity — by 0.2%, and the cost of cold water — 1%.

At a low level the price increase is retained by reducing the cost of fruits and vegetables — fruits and vegetables on average fell for the week by 1.5%. The prices for cucumbers fell by 6%, tomato prices dropped by 4.8%, carrots — by 3.1%, potatoes — by 2.2%. Simultaneously, lamb, pork, cheeses, millet, and salt became cheaper by 0.1–0.2%.

At the same time, prices for sugar grew by 1.1%, buckwheat prices rose by 0.9%, chickens — by 0.4%, oil, bread, confectionery — on 0,2%.

Retail gasoline prices rose over the week by 0.1%, prices for diesel fuel have not changed.
