Two-time Olympic champion in pole vaulting Yelena Isinbayeva stated that the informant of the world doping Agency (WADA) runner Yulia Stepanova is necessary for life to exclude from participation in competitions.
“This question should have been originally supplied so that it initially has no right to be admitted to the sport, she should be disqualified for life,” Isinbayeva said the Agency “R-Sport”.
“I do not understand why such a fuss about the man who used doping and was disqualified for it. And erect it in a rank of hero is a stupid slap us all in the face. Therefore, the fact that she will not compete at the Olympics, that’s right. At least some wise decision in relation to athletics was adopted!” — added Isinbayeva.
Earlier, the international Olympic Committee (IOC) refused admission to the Olympics, Russian runner Maria Stepanova, which was applied as a neutral athlete. In the course of the proceedings Stepanova Commission the IOC on ethics thanked her for her contribution to the fight against doping, but announced that she will not be able to play the Games in Rio, as she was previously convicted of doping.
Yulia Stepanova and her husband Vitaly were the protagonists of one of the films of the German TV channel ARD. In the film, the athlete told about systematic doping in Russian athletics and the ways to circumvent doping control.
After the film’s release and investigation WADA international Association of athletics federations (IAAF) has suspended all Russian athletes from international competitions, including the Olympic games.
On Sunday, the IOC decided not to disqualify the entire Russian team from participation in the Olympics in Brazil and handed over to the international sports federations right to decide which of the Russian athletes to allow for competition. The athletes must meet several criteria, designated IOC.
The IAAF stated that it will not review the application of Russian athletes to participate in the Olympics. “The IAAF, as has been said today in the statement the IOC has already completed the process of forming the pool of Russian athletes who were declared ineligible,” — said in the organization at the request of TASS.
