The Prosecutor’s office of Primorye will appeal against the verdict “seaside guerrillas”, which on 20 July, a jury found not guilty in the murder of drug dealers in 2009. This was reported on the website of the Department.
The Prosecutor recalled that in 2014, this case was a conviction to which the appeal was submitted. “Cancelling the verdict on this episode, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation gave an assessment of the proof or lack of proof of guilt of the accused”, — is spoken in the message. The conviction was overturned because of “procedural irregularities”, namely “the technical side, filling in the question sheet and the content of the parting words of the presiding judge,” — said the Agency.
July 20, the jury of the Primorsky regional court the jury acquitted the brothers Alexander and Vadim Kovtun, Vladimir Ilyutikova, Maxim Kirillov, Alexey Nikitin, known as the “Primorsky partisans”. They were accused of assault and murder of four inhabitants of the Kirov district of Primorsky Krai. A jury found unproven crime.
After acquittal Alexey Nikitin, Vadim Kovtun was released in the courtroom. The rest of the partisans remained in custody since he was convicted for other crimes.
