The international Paralympic Committee has postponed the decision on participation of the Russian national team in the 2016 Games. It is reported by the Sky Sports reporter Orla Chennaoui in his Twitter.
The decision will be made depending on whether the data of the report of the independent Commission WADA for the Paralympic games. The decision about participation of the Russian team at the Paralympics in 2016 will be accepted Friday, July 22.
18 Jul Richard McLaren, the head of the Commission, WADA, has released the results of the investigation, which was conducted from may to July 2016. According to the report, in Russia there is a doping system, which is supported by the state. Thanks to this system, the Russian team, according to McLaren, was able to defeat in the overall standings of the 2014 Olympics held in Sochi. Referred to in the report was including on the substitution of doping tests Russian medalists on the “clean” samples.
The Russian team also won in the overall standings of the Paralympics, winning a total of 80 medals, including 30 gold. Second place went to Germany with 15 medals (9 gold).
