The Council of the Italian region of Lombardy adopted on Tuesday, July 5, resolution urging the Italian government to recognize the Russian Crimea and to cancel sanctions against Russia. This was reported in his Twitter the Secretary of the Department of the party “Northern League” in Lombardy Paolo Grimoldi, which sponsored the resolution.

Grimaldi, called the adoption of the resolution a “historic day”. “We are very pleased that this resolution was approved”, – quotes its words a press-party service. Sanctions against Russia, he called “useless and absurd.”

Tuscany is the third Italian region, adopted a resolution calling for the government to recognize the Russian Crimea and to cancel sanctions against Russia. In mid-may, a similar resolution was adopted by the Council of the Veneto region (with its capital in Venice). In late June, a similar document was adopted by the deputies of the Council of the Italian region of Liguria.

Earlier the Russian foreign Ministry, commenting on the adoption of a resolution by parlamentom Veneto, said that such a decision “only the beginning”.

“And the vote on the resolution to the regional Council of Veneto, and other political processes such as public opinion polls, the referendum in the Netherlands — this shows that the process of anti-Russian propaganda in the context of Ukraine has not so much stalled, how many starts to spin in the opposite direction and to work against those who launched it. This is only the beginning,” — said the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

In a similar vein was given by the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov. He, commenting on the resolution adopted by the Parliament of Veneto, called it an “information breakthrough”.
