Protesters threw a Molotov cocktail into the building of the interior Ministry of Abkhazia

The protesters, who demanded to dismiss from the work of the interior Minister of Abkhazia, threw a bottle with incendiary mixture of the building of the Ministry of internal Affairs, reports “Apsnypress”.

The bottle fell on the canopy of the building. The fire was extinguished by the police.

The forces holding back the onslaught of activists who attempted a new assault, the newspaper notes. While one of the employees of the interior Ministry was taken by ambulance with a heart attack.

After the attempted arson, the President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba signed a decree on the dismissal of interior Minister Leonid Dzapshba. Acting head of Department, became its first Deputy Boris Abitov.

The opposition demanded the resignation of Dzapshba because of the deteriorating crime situation. During the rally, the protesters held near the interior Ministry building, they tore down the gate leading into the yard. In addition, they threw stones to law enforcement officers and broke into the territory of the Department.

Initially the discontent of the protesters was caused by the preparations for the referendum on early presidential elections, which was scheduled for July 10. They, in particular, demanded that we move it in the fall, allowed to vote with absentee ballots and expired passports, and to open sites in Moscow and Cherkessk. President President in response said that he would not cancel the referendum, but agreed to allow a vote on an expired passport.
