The number of deaths in Karelia children rose to 14 people

On the banks of Syamozero in Pryazhinsky district, where on the night of June 19, 2016 in the storm killed members of a tour group from Moscow

The number of children who died in the crash of the boat on the Syamozero in Karelia, has grown to 14 people. About this informed the official representative of the TFR Vladimir Markin.

According to him, all the victims are students of the camp 2002-2004 year of birth, adults among the victims. “This once again confirms that in General none of the instructors who accompanied the children, did not take the necessary efforts to rescue the children, and thought about saving his own life”, – said Markin.

On the night of 19 June 47 pupils who had a rest in children’s camp “Park-Hotel “Sjamozero”, and four instructors were caught in a storm while floating on the boat on the Syamozero, in the course of which the boat capsized. Previously TFR reported on the deaths of 13 students and one adult instructor.

Upon incident the office has opened a criminal case under part 3 of article 238 of the RF criminal code (fulfillment of works or rendering services not meeting safety requirements, entailing death of two or more persons).

At this point in the investigation of the criminal case detained four suspects: the Director of “the Park hotel “Syamozero” Elena Reshetova, her Deputy, Vadim Vinogradov, as well as instructors Regina Ivanova and Lyudmila Vasilyeva.
