Kudrin said the lack of the oligarchs in Russia

The former Minister of Finance of Russia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center for strategic research (CSR) Alexei Kudrin said about the absence in Russia of the oligarchs influencing government. According to him, there are only rich people, reports TASS.

“The oligarchs are the people that influence the government. Today, they are just rich people today, they are not the oligarchs in the sense in which the word was used,” — said Kudrin at a meeting of the panel session at the St. Petersburg international economic forum.

The ex-Minister expressed the wish that these rich people invested in the development of leading Russian universities, as is happening abroad. Kudrin noted that foreigners are investing in the universities of private investment, as “they want the story to come, and their children to learn in these universities.”

On the forum SPIEF, June 16, Kudrin said in an interview to the RBC TV channel, how to avoid “brain drain” from Russia. According to him, the country should be created a more comfortable environment for the creative class”. Kudrin noted that at the moment, this class feels in Russia, “not very comfortable”.

He also stated the need to improve “the quality of institutions, ensuring quality of life.” According to him, it should apply to both education for children and personal safety.
