Samsung Electronics plans to introduce two smartphones with a flexible screen, reported Bloomberg citing sources familiar with the matter.
Smartphones with flexible screen can be presented in the beginning of 2017, told the news Agency on condition of anonymity. Devices will use organic light emitting diodes (OLED).
One of them devices will be parted in the middle, like a girl’s powder box, says the Agency. The second model will look like a regular smartphone with a screen diagonal of 5 inches, but then his body can “turn” to the size of a tablet, about 8 inches in diagonal.
Bloomberg notes that Samsung is the largest supplier of OLED screens for mobile devices. The use of advanced technologies in the development of the screen may, according to the Agency, to entice some customers from Apple and to rectify the situation in the financial statements.
