FIFA announced the dismissal of Deputy Secretary General of the organization

Deputy Secretary General of FIFA, Markus Kuttner dismissed from his post, reported on the organization’s website.

An internal investigation by FIFA revealed that Kuttner does not fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to him under the employment contract. FIFA refused to give any additional comments, noting that it will “continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities”. According to Reuters, Kuttner is not a defendant in any criminal case.

From September to early may Kuttner was the acting General Secretary of FIFA, he replaced the dismissed Jerome valcke. FIFA Kuttner came to work in 2003 when it became the financial Director of the organization. Four years later he took the position of Deputy Secretary General.

In the past year, FIFA was at the center of a major corruption scandal. In may 2015 in Zurich arrested several high-ranking officials of the organization on suspicion of corruption. In September, the figurant of criminal case became Joseph Blatter, head of FIFA since 1998. He had to resign, the new President of FIFA was the Swiss Gianni Infantino.
