Putin signed a decree on the early resignation of the head of Tuva

President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on early termination of powers of the head of Tuva sholbana Kara-oola. Document published on the Kremlin website.

The decree also refers to the appointment of Kara-ooly to the position of acting head of the Republic until the election of the new head of the region.

Sholban Kara-ool, whose term was due to expire in March 2017, asked Putin about the resignation Monday afternoon. He declared intention to participate in presidential elections of the Republic in September 2016. Putin noted that he has nothing against his resignation and expressed hope that the elections in Tuva will be successful.

Close to the Kremlin source told RBC that in the early resignation of the head of Tuva has left at own will. According to him, this decision was influenced by the environment of Minister of defence Sergei Shoigu, who is a native of the region – it is felt that it is better to keep the current head of the Republic for another five years.
